Reduct Nepal Pvt. Ltd. is looking for 15 English Transcriptionists. Transcriptionists are independent contractors who listen to audio and video files to transcribe the content in text.
 
The content you listen to will be internal calls of the most innovative technology and design companies on the planet so you will be bound by strong Non-Disclosure Agreements.
 
You will be working directly with the founder, using our in-house transcription tool, giving feedback for its improvement along the way. As such, you will participate in building the next-generation company in Nepal.
 
Job Specification
You should be good in English listening and writing. More importantly, you should have a mental autocomplete when it comes to common English words and phrases. If you listen to “He kept me…” your mind should automatically jump to “He kept me in the dark...”
 
You're fit for this job if at least three of the following profiles matches you:
1. I enjoy reading English fiction or nonfiction.
2. I love English Football/NBA/any non-cricket game and follow the game religiously. I can understand each word the commentators speak during a game.
3. I am a member of the Grammar police and constantly get into arguments with people because of it.
4. I spend a lot of time on the internet reading and watching videos.
5. I have a broad knowledge and awareness of the latest trends in the world. I can participate in discussions about bitcoin and the morality of genetically modified babies.
6. My friends think I am pretentious because I have a bit of an English accent.
7. I don't want to pursue a career in the field in which I've done my Bachelor's.
8. I've got good IELTS/SAT scores and I'm applying for colleges.
9. I earn a decent wage but hate my current job and work environment. I want to work in a place with bright people and no politics.
 
Job Description
The job involves listening to audio and transcribing the content in text. But it isn’t as easy as it looks. You have to fill in the words from the context when the audio isn’t clear.
 
You have to understand that the people speaking are among the smartest people on the planet, so even if you feel that you are hearing gibberish, it’s probably not.
 
We will provide you with training and crystal clear transcription guidelines to perform the task.
 
Pay/Benefits
Pay is Rs. 30 per minute transcribed. You can easily do between half an hour to an hour of transcription per day, so that comes out to Rs. 900-1800 per day of work. The work timings are flexible.
